Golden Sower Books
April 18, 2016
Every year we read the Nebraska Golden Sower nominee books in the elementary library. There are ten books nominated annually for this award. Each week one of the nominees is read and discussed on its merits for the award. Students are taught how to judge the quality of a good book. At the end of the ten weeks students vote for the best book. We will be notified as to the winning book some time in May. The following books were read and judged:
*The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt (received the most votes here at JCC)
Simpson’s Sheep Won’t Go to Sleep by Bruce Arant
No Pirates Allowed? Said Library Lou by Rhonda Growler Greene
Rufus Goes to School by Kim T. Griwell
Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch by Anne Isaacs
My Crocodile Does Not Bite by Joe Kulka
The Invisible Boy by Trudy Ludwig
Sophie’s Squash by Pat Zietlow Miller
Super Hair-O and the Barber of Doom by John Rocco
That is Not a Good Idea! By Mo Willems
