PE: Running, Jumping & Homework?
December 03, 2015
Hello Everyone!
I am the new PE teacher this year and it is my pleasure to teach here at Johnson County Central! I grew up and went to high school in Auburn then I went to Wayne State College and now I am very happy to be back in the area!
The K-3 students have physical education every day. It is good for the students to get exercise every day as it helps students improve their academics. I give the kids homework every weekend to get outside and play! They tell me I give the best homework! The students go through daily exercises and I choose a a different student every day to lead them through those exercises that include push-ups, sit ups, grasshoppers, heel touches and jumping jacks. We have been working on improving locomotor skills such as running, jumping, hopping, galloping, and skipping.
The freshman class switches every day between weight training with Mr. Kuhl and physical education with myself. We have played games such as soccer, ultimate Frisbee, ultimate football, volleyball and kick ball. The freshman class enjoys competing and playing all sorts of activities.
My advanced class consists of 9 students. We have played games such ultimate Frisbee, tennis, and volleyball. We just finished up with ping pong and will be starting badminton very soon!
Thanks for your time and have a great holiday season!
