Skills USA - Business, Management, IT - 2024
March 21, 2024
On Wednesday, March 20th, three Skills USA students from Johnson County Central High School in Tecumseh, NE, Sergio Valles, a senior, James Stalions-Nixon, a sophomore, and William Rademacher, a freshman, networked with professionals in the information technology industry through a Zoom meeting.
Cindy Ried, CEO of 2Evolve Technologies, Jayte Burns, the Sr. VP of Sales of Fastwyre Broadband, and Sonia Hugnou, the Director of Business Development at Predictive Technology, Inc. answered the students’ questions about what it is currently like to work in the IT industry, and what can be expected in the future.
They also learned that any of these professionals would be more than happy to offer job shadows at their places of business, or if there is a job shadow they cannot offer, they likely have another professional in their network who can.
Sergio, James, and William have been working on a Career Pathways project in the career areas of Business, Management, and Information Technology and this experience provided them with a great deal of insight when it comes to information technology and owning and managing your own business.
