Cheer Competes at Crete
January 28, 2025
This weekend, the Johnson County Central Varsity and Unified Cheerleading Squad performed a Game Day (Varsity) Routine and Sideline (Unified) Crowd Cheer at the Doane College and Crete High School Collaboration Competition. This was an impressive feat as JCC has not been seen in competition for almost 10 years! Prior to the competition, the squad had the unique privilege to perform with Doane cheerleaders and receive feedback on their routine.
Competing on Varsity for Game Day were Kali Drake, Zeke Burki, Josie McDonald, Nayelli Prado, Abby Burki, Nayeli Bobadilla, Julia Curreaux, Stef Peters, and Yaretsy Ortiz. In Game Day, JCC returned with 5th place as their impressive crowd cheered along!
Competing on Unified, athletes included Adrian Small, Anna Russell, and Ari Myers. Partners included Kali Drake, Stef Peters, and Zeke Burke. This group returned with medals as they received first place!
Congratulations to these competitors on a job well done!
On February 9th, JCC will be in Elkhorn to perform their Varsity Game Day Routine, Unified Sideline Cheer, and a Unified Dance.
Their final competition will be for the Nebraska State Cheerleading competition in Grand Island. On February 21, JCC Varsity will perform. On February 22, JCC Unified will have their opportunity.
